FDHS Dress Code & Uniform
Dress Code Expectations: The FDHS School dress code guidelines help promote a safe & effective learning environment. Attire that distracts from the educational goals of the school is not permitted. The following standards shall apply during the school day as well as all regular school activities, unless otherwise stated. Students not meeting dress code expectations will be provided with a change of clothing (i.e. school uniform, PE uniform, etc.) at their cost.
Tops
Standard—
KIPP, college or positive cultural message t-shirt or polo.
FDHS field trip shirt (Included in supply budget)
No torn/cut shirts or bare midriffs.
Dress Down ONLY on approved days/programs—
Top with school-appropriate logo (clothing that bear logos, insignia, letters or colors signifying a gang, crew, violent actions or weapons will not be tolerated)
All tops (shirts and blouses) must cover the top of the shoulder and completely cover the stomach, chest and back. No bare midriffs.
Bottoms
Standard—
Khaki, blue or black pants
School plaid pants
No torn/cut pants
No athletic warmups, yoga pants, jeans, leggings or sweatpants
Dress Down ONLY on approved days/programs—
Jeans (not torn)
No athletic warmups, yoga pants, leggings or sweatpants
Headwear and Accessories
No hats/hoods/head covers, scarves, head rags aside from those worn for religious purposes
Clothing, jewelry and personal items (backpacks, fanny packs, gym bags, water bottles, etc.) shall be free of writing or pictures. Other items or insignia that are crude, gang-related, vulgar, profane or sexually suggestive, that bear drug, alcohol or tobacco company advertising/promotions or that advocate racial, ethnic or religious prejudice are strictly prohibited.
Shoes
Closed toe shoes must always be worn; no inappropriate footwear or roller blades.
No crocs, sandals, slippers, or slides.

Summer Reading List: Please read the book for your grade level before Orientation Week (August 1st).
The quiz on this book will be the first grade earned for your English class.

Students who receive after school detention will need a ride home.
We collect phones at the start of the day. Confiscated phones are returned after buses depart.
Please encourage your child to follow school procedures and minimize your inconvenience.

5 one subject notebooks
2 packs of blue or black pens

1 pack of highlighters
1 pack of post-it notes
Computer for home (Recommended)
Summer Reading Book (See below)
Students will need to pay $10 replacement fee if their planner or School ID is misplaced.
